For the person holding the traffic, arrival and departure plan. It has to work for the highway authority, site, security, medical and Event Control at the same time.

What you will be able to do

  • Record the traffic plan in force, and set competing plans side by side.
  • Decide whether new information is enough to hold a gate or a route.
  • Choose a route plan without opening a gate that cannot take the load.
  • Hold and release arrival, with a named person authorising each step.
  • Run departure as a written sequence.

What the chapters cover

  • The plan now in force, and competing plans
  • Holding or releasing arrival load
  • Departure as a sequence
  • Withdrawing a route or a gate
  • Highway or police advice and the show schedule
  • Handover across arrival, show and departure

Thirteen chapters follow the job in order, with thirteen quick-reference cards you may copy for use at your own event. Worked examples are composite illustrations, not accounts of real events.

Tactical titles are for the person coordinating several posts or departments once the plan has to change on the day. OTAS Live publishes 30 handbooks across ten areas of event work, each at Operational, Tactical and Strategic level.

Three levels in Transport and Access

Each area of event work is covered at Operational, Tactical and Strategic level, so the series follows the job from the post on the ground to the decisions around it.
