Who we are
An event operations company, led by event professionals
OTAS Live Ltd is a Scottish company of multi-disciplinary event professionals. We place an experienced lead in your event, with a core team when the job needs one, to run the operation around it: the site, its safety, Event Control, logistics and the area outside your gates.
We run the site, safety, Event Control and logistics ourselves, and the external operation too when you buy it as a service. Security, medical, traffic and activations stay with your own contractors, and we coordinate them to the same plan. Everyone can see who holds which contract, and every function works from one written plan.
OTAS staff do most of the work directly, so the people who write your plan are the people who run it on the day.

How we work, and why
Every service set out by level
Each service sets out, in plain words, what OTAS does at Operational, Tactical and Strategic level, and whether we run the function or plan it with your contractor. You buy the level you are missing and nothing more.
The people who plan it run it
OTAS staff do most of the work directly. The plan, the site and the debrief come from the same team, and the manager you meet at the first call is the manager you find on site.
One plan across the whole operation
On a multi-day international sporting event, OTAS covered 8 functions under one plan across 3 editions, from 2024 to 2026. We directed the site, safety, Event Control and logistics, and coordinated security, medical, traffic and activations.
Outside the gates as well as inside
Your audience meets your event at the station, in the car park and on the street. We plan and run that external area, and the response to the people who live and work there, as part of the same operation.
A written record as standard
Every deployment comes with a timed Event Control log, written daily checks, a close-out note and a debrief with dated, costed actions for the next edition.
Clear limits, in writing
Every scope says plainly what OTAS does not do. We are not the licence holder, an emergency-service commander or a CDM duty holder, so you, your insurers and the SAG can see where responsibility sits.

Where our team has worked
UK festivals, concerts and sport since 2008
Our team started in live events in 2008 on a large UK music festival, in the event production and artist village team, and has worked on UK festivals, concerts and sport since.
International work since 2015
Since 2015 our team has worked on large international events, including music festivals, concerts and an international sporting event, in safety advisor, operational safety and crowd manager roles.
This is our team's experience, gained working for other event companies. It is not a list of OTAS Live Ltd projects, and we do not name those events or companies here.
OTAS Live Ltd's own work
On a multi-day international sporting event (2024 to 2026), OTAS kept the Event Control log with safety decisions in writing, ran all-channel radio checks, moved the log to digital in 2026, wrote the security deployment plan position by position, and delivered a CDM handover, a safety advice note and a costed debrief.

First call
We ask the questions on the contact page and listen carefully for what your team is missing.
Written scope
We set out the posts, the days, the outputs and the price in writing, together with what OTAS does not do.
Planning
We work remote planning days with set site visits, and produce the documents your SAG and contractors need.
On site
The same team is on the ground from build to break, reporting to your event manager.
Debrief
We review the job from the written record and set dated, costed actions for next time.
Where our role ends
Clear limits protect you as much as they protect us, and every scope repeats the ones that apply.
- More than safety. Safety is one of our core specialisms and the standard we hold every function to, but it is one part of the job rather than the whole of it.
- Part of your team. We work inside your structure, report to your event manager and fill the roles you are missing, rather than replacing the team you already have.
- You keep the decisions. We advise you and run the plan. The decisions, and the risk that remains, stay with you.
- Alongside the emergency services. Event Control is not a command seat for the police, fire or ambulance service. When they take command of an incident, we support them.
- Planning, not labour supply. We do not supply security officers or clinicians. We plan for them with your contractors, whose own supervisors manage their staff.
- Licences and legal duties stay with the right people. We do not hold licences, submit to the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) or give legal advice. We do not take CDM Principal Contractor or Principal Designer appointments, act as the Safety Officer under a sports ground safety certificate, or sign off structural, fire or electrical work.
- Security and traffic stay with licensed contractors. We do not supply SIA-licensed staff, provide security guarding, door supervision or access control, operate CCTV or run traffic management on public roads. We plan for those functions with your licensed contractors, whose own supervisors manage their staff.
- A small, hands-on team. We take on fewer jobs at once, so the lead you meet is the lead on site.
