For the person running medical and welfare operations on the day. You write an operation several posts can run and record the cover that remains.
What you will be able to do
- Record the medical and welfare operation in force, post by post, without inventing a staff ratio.
- Compare what the provider arrived with against what your organisation specified.
- Decide whether new information is enough to change the operation, and record who first said it would not hold.
- Record who leaves a post, who arrives and the time the move takes effect.
- Keep the medical route open, or record the part of it people cannot walk.
What the chapters cover
- Confirming the operation now in force
- Setting the provider's plan against what this event needs
- Sending a team and standing a post down
- Recording the cover that remains after an ambulance leaves
- Running the lost-child and vulnerable-adult process
- Writing the operation instruction
Thirteen chapters follow the job in order, with thirteen quick-reference cards you may copy for use at your own event. Worked examples are composite illustrations, not accounts of real events.
Tactical titles are for the person coordinating several posts or departments once the plan has to change on the day. OTAS Live publishes 30 handbooks across ten areas of event work, each at Operational, Tactical and Strategic level.

Three levels in Medical, Welfare and Safeguarding
Each area of event work is covered at Operational, Tactical and Strategic level, so the series follows the job from the post on the ground to the decisions around it.
